Earth Day with Ms Earth Americas

    Earth Day - May 22, 2016

    What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.

Ms. Earth America's is our permanent resident advocate & brand ambassador for World Missions Outreach. For Earth Day, Amanda traveled to The Montessori School of Pensacola to talk about how we can unite together to help the earth and its inhabitants through education, teaching self-sustainability and the importance of preserving our natural resources.

Amanda shared her personal experiences within Nicaragua and from La Chureca, one of National Geographic's listed top 7 most Horrendous places on Earth. She brought La Chureca to the students by bringing the concepts of the living conditions, lack of food, smells and piles of trash to life.

The students shared their efforts to raise money to help provide villages with farm livestock to help support communities while teaching self-sustainability with in third-world countries.

Amanda offered to help with their fundraising effort to ensure they reach their goals! In return, the students wanted help host a Feeding the 5000 Bowl Drive!

WEAR Channel 3 News of Pensacola was also at the Montessori School of Pensacola to catch an interview about World Missions Outreach and Feeding the 5000 with Amanda before her assembly with the students.

After the Montessori School of Pensacola, Amanda continued Celebrating Earth Day at the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida. CLICK HERE to see the full story.
